Delete Your Dictando Account
This page explains how to delete your Dictando account and what data is removed.
Delete from the app
In Dictando, open Account and tap Delete Account.
The current iOS build starts deletion immediately after you confirm. That flow deletes the server-side account and clears local dictation history, custom dictionary entries, and dictation stats from the device where you started deletion.
Delete by email
If you cannot access the app, email contact@dictando.app from the email address linked to your Dictando account.
What gets deleted
- Your Dictando account record and authentication record.
- Server-side account settings and related account records kept by Dictando.
- Local dictation history, custom dictionary entries, and local dictation stats on the device where you started in-app deletion.
What is not stored server-side
Dictando does not retain raw dictation audio or dictation text on its servers after the active request completes. Because those items are not stored server-side, there is no server archive of your dictation history for us to delete later.
Data export before deletion
Dictando does not currently offer self-serve export. If you want a copy of the account data we hold before deleting your account, email contact@dictando.app before you start deletion.
Retention exceptions
We may keep limited records if required for legal compliance, security, or fraud prevention. Any retained records are limited to that purpose.
