Delete from the app

  1. Open Dictando and choose Account.
  2. Tap Delete Account.
  3. Review the warning and confirm deletion.

The current iOS flow starts deletion immediately after confirmation. It removes the server-side account and clears local dictation history, custom dictionary entries, and dictation stats from the device where deletion was started.

Account deletion does not manage a subscription billed by Apple. Cancel Dictando Pro in Apple subscription settings before deletion if you do not want it to renew.

Delete by email

If you cannot access the app, email contact@dictando.app from the address connected to your Dictando account. We may ask you to verify control of the account. We will send confirmation to that address when the request has been processed.

What gets deleted

  • Your Dictando account and authentication record.
  • Server-side account settings and related records controlled by Dictando.
  • Local history, custom dictionary entries, and stats on the device where in-app deletion was started.

What is not archived

Dictando does not intentionally retain raw dictation audio or dictation text on its own servers after the active request completes. There is no Dictando server archive of dictation history to remove later. Third-party processors and infrastructure providers may retain limited records under their applicable terms and service configuration.

Request account data

Dictando does not currently offer self-serve export. If you want a copy of the account data we hold, email contact@dictando.app before starting deletion.

Limited retained records

We may keep limited records where required for legal compliance, billing, security, or fraud prevention. Any retained record is limited to that purpose and is not used to rebuild your Dictando account.
